Wi-Fi Connection and Tips!

Today I went to staples and grabbed a wireless adapter for my desktop computer since my old one was crappy and it started to shake on me. I grabbed a LINKSYS Wireless-G PCI Adapter. It's compatible with my router and would optimize the speed of the connection. Well I tried it out and the results are great. By the way, to install a PCI device you gotta open up the PC and insert it inside. I had a little trouble with that. <__< But anyways the connection was good but I added a homemade adapter on top of the other. It's called a WindSurfer.

Here is the background information on how to make this cheap Wi-Fi extender and making it doesn't have any cost. Since many of the people in the world have Wi-Fi, or you probably wouldn't be playing this, it is no surprise that things like weak signals may arise. The solution? Either spend money on signal extenders or other Wi-Fi adaptors. There is a rather cheap an inexpensive alternative however. By following this link....

You can play Wi-Fi with several walls in between you. All you need to do is watch the video and follow the link next to the video to get a print out of the signal extender. Then you just cover the satellite part in aluminum foil and put it together. Last you need to make a slots big enough to fit your router's antenna or the Nintendo USB Adapter (the top blue part) able to be inserted. After that you should see a significant increase in bars, speed, etc.

I really hope this little piece of information helps anyone looking for a quick solution to this problem or just to help boost your signal. By the By: I shall not be credited for making this excellent video and gadget. Credit goes to DL.TV and the guys at freeantennas.

Materials you will need:
Paper (Any printing paper will work. The aluminum foil does all the work.)
Aluminum Foil
Scissors or X-Acto Knife
Glue

Remember when you double the size of the template you will get better results. However, if you have a router with two antennas you can make two WindSurfers for each. Have fun!

OpenDNS Server Address
Here's another tip to make your connection faster! This can be applied on your Nintendo Wii, Sony PlayStation 3, Sony PSP, Nintendo DS/i or with most that can connect to the internet. Just add the DNS's at the bottom.

For PC you gotta go to your 'Network Connections'. Right click on your connection and scroll down to 'Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)' then click properties. Tick 'Use the following DNS server addresses'. Then once you're down click 'OK'.

Put in the following DNS:
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

You should notice a difference. Enjoy!
